Brian Vaughn, Artistic Director at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, in Swansong
Brian Vaughn is currently the Artistic Director at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. He has directed for the Festival Henry V, Henry IV Part Two, Henry IV Part One, Peter and the Starcatcher (regional premiere), Dial M for Murder, and Greater Tuna. Brian began his history with the Utah Shakespearean Festival as a student at Southern Utah University. He started as a journeyman actor in The Green Show in 1991. As an actor at the Festival, he has appeared in over fifty roles in twenty-two seasons, including title roles in Hamlet, Henry V, and Cyrano de Bergerac; Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew; Benedict in Much Ado about Nothing, Javert in Les Misérables, Charlie in Stones in His Pockets, and Felix and Oscar in The Odd Couple.
As a member of the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre’s resident acting company for thirteen seasons starting in 1997, he appeared in leading and supporting roles in over forty productions. He has also appeared at the Arizona Theatre Company, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Denver Center Theatre Company, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Nevada Conservatory Theater, Northlight Theatre, Skylight Opera, and many more.
