Thanks to the generous contributions of businesses and individuals, we offer classical theatre to student groups at discounted rates. Students see full-length performances and all seating is reserved. A comprehensive Teacher Guide, meeting Arizona State Standards, is also provided.
Student Matinees are at 10 a.m. but please plan on arriving by 9:40 a.m. so we can get all of our groups seated and start the show on time. Weekend matinees are available for most shows. SSC has introduced more than 115,000 Arizona students to live classical theatre. Students attend from as far away as Yuma, Snowflake, Lake Havasu City, as well as all parts of the Valley.
If you have any questions about the student matinees, group tickets, or would like to pay by some form other than credit card, please contact Susan at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Educational Extras: Talkbacks and Tours
Backstage Tours and Talkbacks following our student matinees give a truly unique perspective and highlight technical aspects of how our shows work. Talkbacks are $50 per matinee group and they allow students to question the actors about any topic in an open forum and to connect the preparation the actors did with the final product of the show they just saw with your curriculum and educational preparation. Backstage Tours are $25 per group of $20 people where cast or crewmembers lead students through the backstage areas to offer technical insight and highlight unique production pieces. You can add a backstage tour or talkback to your matinee order.
If you’ve already reserved your student matinee seats, please contact Susan at email@example.com or Education Director Amanda Trombley at firstname.lastname@example.org to add these fabulous additional educational offerings.
